Richard Price

Richard Price began his career as a promising sportsman. He was capped for rugby seven times for Surrey and twice for London counties, before a serious injury curtailed his sporting potential. After training as a schoolmaster at Culham College, Oxford he embarked on a teaching career in London. In 1970 following two years teaching art at the Clapham and Balham Institute, he turned professional. It is to his credit that twenty five years later, he still earns his living as an artist.

Richard Prices work has always reflected a personal individuality and I quote from Pictura Graphica, Sweden who commissioned sixteen paintings for publication, "Richard Price who lives and works in Berkshire, captures with a simplicity of vision the surrounding countryside. In an interesting manner it is what Price leaves out of his paintings that gives them that crucial and unmistakable uniqueness. A truly individual talent".
