Dennis Wood

Dennis Wood

Dennis thinks in an abstract way. He has learnt how to eliminate detail and to apply abstract principles to almost anything. His aim is to stimulate vision rather than simply satisfy established conventions of taste.

'I always know when to paint and when not to. I never plan a painting; I just start out, explore the options and go for it.'

Whilst at Bradford Art College I learned how to use alternative forms of art and how to think in an abstract way. I learned to eliminate detail and to apply abstract principles to almost anything. My aim is to stimulate vision rather than simply satisfy established conventions of taste.

A typical day for me is to just paint and paint - I paint until I drop! If I'm on form and I'm painting well I will paint maybe for 20 hours non-stop - I always know when to paint and when not to. I never plan a painting; I just start out, explore the options and go for it. So I hope you enjoy my work...
