Ben Jeffrey
Ben was born in 1986 and grew up in Barnet north London. He took art and photography at A level. He then continued to degree level. He studied Illustration and got BA (Hons) degree in 2008.
It has always been Ben’s dream to work as a full time artist ever since his grandad introduced him to the work of John Varley, the renowned 18th Century watercolour artist. The Varley’s are related to the Jeffery family.
Ben decided the best place to start his career was to work in an environment surrounded by paintings and work with people who had the same passion for art. He then found a job at an art gallery in central London.
It was at this point in his life that Ben decided he wanted to sell his own work and not other people’s. He came to the conclusion ‘if these artists can do it, then so can I?’
His work is diverse ranging from portraits to landscapes in both pencil and oils. He is an accomplished artist who loves working with vivid, bright colours to create his unique and modern style. Ben takes inspiration from views around the outer Hebrides where he often visits.
