NINA GREENWOOD
Born in Ilkley, Nina attended Bradford and Sunderland College of Art, graduating with a BA Hons in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking in 1967. She went on to gain a further Batchelor of Arts degree in Human Studies’ from Bradford University in 1983. Nina has been a professional artist since 1990 when, under her previous gender she was known as David Greenwood. She has exhibited intermittently since 1983 with the Pastel Society, the Mall Galleries, London and has also had three works accepted at the Royal Academy Summer Show since 1997. Her paintings are selling well and gaining recognition both at home and abroad and can be found in many private and corporate collections, the latest commission being a painting for the bicentenary celebrations of the 10th Hussars and 21st Lancers. An arts graduate, Nina cites her influences as Turner and David Bomberg to name a few, but has developed a style of her own. Her love of ruined abbeys and the Yorkshire countryside have inspired some truly beautiful paintings and her horse racing and urban landscapes are full of energy, depth and vitality.
